Privacy Policy

Protection of Customer Information

We recognize the importance of privacy for our customers and visitors to Courier Service websites. For many years, our policy has been to treat all information we gather about our customers as confidential. For instance, we will not share or sell confidential or personal information (as defined below) about our customers to any third party not involved in their transaction, except when required by law or when necessary to provide Courier Service to the customer.

We collect and store information about every package we handle to efficiently provide the package delivery services requested by our customers. This information, including details about customers, their packages, and shipping activity, is used to offer or improve services, communicate about additional offerings, fulfill legitimate business interests (such as trend analysis and market studies), set prices, establish credit, execute Contracts of Carriage or Service Agreements, perform billing functions, and comply with government regulations. While government regulations differ across the countries in which we operate, they often require the reporting of certain information to transportation, safety, customs, and other regulatory agencies. In order to process customer information for these purposes, we may contract with vendors, who are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose. Furthermore, as Courier Service continues to grow, we may buy or sell subsidiaries or business units. In such cases, customer information from these subsidiaries or units may be transferred as part of the transaction.

Some of the information collected by Courier Service includes data that can identify a specific person ("Personal Information"). Examples of Personal Information include names, addresses, email addresses, credit card numbers, and telephone numbers. We never sell information to third parties that could be used to specifically identify an individual customer or group of customers. However, anonymized data, with all personal details such as names and addresses removed, may be shared with third parties. Additionally, we may provide Personal Information to government agencies as required by law or regulation.

In addition to the uses of information described earlier, we collect telephone numbers and email addresses to contact the shipper or the shipment recipient (addressee) if we need to resolve a question or provide updates on the shipment status.

Shipment Information Information, including Personal Information, provided as part of a shipping transaction represents a record of that business transaction and cannot be altered after the transaction is complete, except as outlined in the Courier Service Terms and Conditions. While we make reasonable efforts to restrict access to our facilities and vehicles to authorized personnel only, we are not responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information that is printed and placed in plain view on a package or letter.

We treat our data as valuable assets that must be safeguarded against loss and unauthorized access. We employ information security measures to appropriately protect confidential information from unauthorized access by individuals both inside and outside the company. Access to customer information is restricted to employees who have a legitimate business need for that information.

The Courier Service websites and their supporting systems utilize generally accepted information security techniques, such as firewalls, access control procedures, and cryptography, to appropriately protect confidential information from unauthorized access.

Customers are responsible for protecting the information and systems on their premises. This includes ensuring that appropriate security measures are in place to safeguard their own data and prevent unauthorized access or breaches.

Some information about Courier Service customers and their packages is stored in shipping systems located on customer premises. Customers who are concerned about the security of their information in these systems should take measures to secure it, such as activating passwords and using physical access controls. When these systems (hardware or software) are provided by Courier Service, we offer tools to assist customers in safeguarding their information.

The following paragraphs describe our commitment to protecting Personal Information as it applies to the Courier Service websites, which are controlled or operated by a Courier Service entity (such as a business unit) or an affiliate, unless the website expressly publishes a different or modified privacy policy.

Users can visit most areas of the Courier Service websites without revealing their identity or providing any personal information. However, some of our interactive services require users to identify themselves in order to enable the function. In such cases, we may ask users to provide certain Personal Information. This information will be used to facilitate the specific service or function that the user is engaging with.

From time to time, we include survey forms on the Courier Service websites to better understand our customers' needs and to improve the websites to better respond to their interests. Customers have the option to opt out of participating in follow-up surveys. Courier Service will not disclose survey response information to any companies or individuals outside of Courier Service, except in two cases: To vendors who are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are restricted from using it for any purpose other than assisting in providing services to Courier Service or its customers. To other vendors who are similarly required to maintain confidentiality and can only use the information to help provide services to Courier Service or its customers.

Users of Courier Service's Internet Shipping and other applications on the Courier Service websites, who choose to use credit cards for payment, are required to provide information about themselves and their card. This information is used to establish credit for billing purposes.
